SCS Macrocool - Cooling System for Automatic Lines

MACROCOOL is a patented accumulating transfer using the same principle as MICROPARK and MACROPARK. It stores and releases books in quantities proportional to their sizes. Capacity and cooling times are shown in the chart below

Highlighs and Benefits

Comparing with cooling towers usually supplied in lengths of 25 or 50 m taking up approximately 50 resp. 100 books. Under the most unfavorable assumption the MACROCOOL will accept about the same number of books as one 50m-tower Considering books with thickness below 35 mm its capacity can equal to 3 towers of 50m.

Whereas in the cooling tower the books are carried by moveable elements, they remain on a firm support on the MACROCOOL thus being less exposed to markings.

The extremly space saving footprint of the MACROCOOL eliminates a lot of space normally occupied by towers or conveyors and allows to position the relevant  machines of a line much closer to each other with all the advantages of easier and quicker access for the operators. This refers particularly to the possibility of moving the delivery of the trimmer next to the binder infeed enabling the operators to help and alternate each other.

Characteristics

The MACROCOOL accepts one max. 1.200 mm long row of books varying between 2 and 10 books per row depending on spine length. The shelves can be switched for book thicknesses from 5 to 35 mm resp. 35 to 70 m. The range results in max. 35 resp. 70 usable shelves.
